Hey guys!
Sorry I haven't written anything in quite sometime. My life has been on a bit of a whirlwind for the past 4 months. To sum up the major things that have happenned :
- I was standing in as store manager (I'm the assistant store manager) for my store. I've gotten some positive results from that as well! Our store has never had more than 79% customer satisfaction since as long as i cab remember. Since I've taken over the store we have increased to 94% overall cust satisfaction. That is pretty phenomenal!!
- my boyfriend an I own a house together and we have two spare bedrooms that we don't really use. So we decided to rent one out. The guy who we rented it to ( my boyfriends doing) had fallen on some hard times and we were doing it more so as a favor. In the end he ended up causing us more damage and we told him he had until April 1 to find a new place. He found a place and with a week to go until he was supposed to move out he decided to get retardedly drunk( which we discovered was a common occurrence for him) pass out in our front foyer with the front door wide open and lit candles burning in his room. Needless to say we kicked him out a week early and had to change all our locks and we have to get new furnishings for his bedroom because he ruined everything that was in there.
- lastly I'm going to be applying for my masters in occupational therapy at the end of this year so I have been taking classes to upgrade my gpa. Which has been pretty time consuming.
So once again sorry for going MIA. Atleast I've explained myself. I will try to get back in the habit of posting. But atleast now you know in a nutshell what's been keeping me away!

Old outfit that never got posted
I found these photos that I took when I had my older blog. I never ended up posting them... but I still actually really like the outfit. It's plain, and simplistic, but has a certain amount of me in it. I like outfits that allow me to take on my day, and anything that may come with that. There is nothing worse to me than being in a situation where you can do something because your outfit doesn't allow it. I guess that is somewhat of me still being a tomboy - I need to be able to run, jump and play at my own instinct.
I have grey shorts with grey tights underneath. The beige ankle boots have a slight wedge heel to hem. I have layered two shirts one is a beige, wide v-neck shirt. The under shirt is a pink racer back tank top with lace details.
Like I said before, although it is a simple outfit.. it is one to take on the day.. whatever that may entail.

New Toy!
So I recently bought a Topstyler - by Instyler set of Hair curlers. (They call them shells because they are shaped like seashells.)
I inherited super straight hair that won't hold a curl if my life depended on it! So I have been trying to find a method that works with my hair type for atleast a decade. So far I have one Rusk Curling wand that works like magic, but its a thin barrell so I can't get big waves out of it. I was really hoping that these would be the trick. They were designed by a professional hairstylist who does hair for movies. She claims to have tried out her first prototype of these on Scarlett Johansen - not sure which movie it was for tho. Let's see if they actually work as well as they claim to!
It comes in its own carrying case. Which is perfect for those who travel. I actually got two of these from their site - they had a buy one get one free sort of deal. Inside the case there is a little pocket where you can find a comb to help separate your hair, as well as instruction booklet on different methods you can use to achieve different results.
I really like the case, it keeps everything organized and compact. So they definitely get an A for packaging from me. The shells are completely ceramic and are already sitting on the base that heats them up.
Now for the actual curling - I put my hair up in just the most basic pin curls. What they describe in their instruction manual as the two finger twist. Where you take two fingers and wrap your hair around them - for tighter or looser curls you can use less or more fingers to increase or decrease the width.
I think it looks a little funny with the shells in. The instructions say that you only have to wait 10 mins - but I let them completely cool. Which was around 30 mins. But I got my makeup done and finished getting dressed during that time.
Keeping in mind that this is the first time I've ever used these. Also that I didn't use any hairspray in my hair (I will be definitely using some next time) I think the curls turned out okay. They aren't amazing but for how hard it is to curl my hair, and how easy and quick the shells were to use - I'm happy with the results. I will need to master the finger wrap technique too. But that all comes with time :). What do you guys think?

NYC
Hey Guys!
So back in May I took a trip to NYC with the boyfriend and another couple - Krista and Ian. We had a blast and did a lot of shopping. I know I keep writing about doing haul posts - which I eventually will- but for now I just wanted to post some of my favourite pictures of our trip.
I don't know if you can see how tight I'm holding on to the railing. I'm standing at the top of 30 Rock. Behind me you can see the Empire State Building. It was an absolutely gorgeous day out. But it was so windy, I was paranoid I was going to be whipped right off the roof here.
This is of me frolicking the streets of times square! It was 2am and you would never be able to tell. There is so much going on in this city all the time.
Of course, I couldn't go to NYC without taking a leisurely stroll through central park :).
Absolutely amazing city. If I could live in NYC I would move there in a heartbeat. Can't wait to go back for more adventures!

day off makeup
So because I work at starbucks - which I really enjoy- I don't get a lot of opportunities to get dressed up or do my hair and make-up. Which is why on my days off I sometimes dress a little nicer than usual because my uniform is so strict that I feel like I need to make up for it on my days off. Today I spent quite some time playing with my makeup. I bought a sephora makeup pallette last boxing day. I haven't completely explored all of the options in it yet.
The great thing about this kit is that it comes with lipgloss, blush, bronzer, eyeliner, eyeshadow, and a travel case. All of the items in it can be taken out and I can put them in a small travel kit which is the big black box in the bottom centre of the kit. It was probably one of the best purchases I've ever made in sephora - it was on sale for $23!!!!
This is my makeup I did today. I used the dark blue eyeliner, the light peachy blush, the greyish gold metallic eyeshadow and the light gold metallic eyeshadow. I also used Falsies mascara - which I love! I have very little eyelashes but they actually make them look long - which is hard for me to do with any other mascara I've tried.

Motorcycle convention
Hello... My boyfriends latest interest has been motorcycles. He got his license last year (along with his first bike) and has been diving deeper into the motorcycle world ever since. Being the supportive girlfriend I try to be (even tho they scare me and I'm terrified he'll get into an accident) I went along with him to this seasons largest North American International Motorcycle tradeshow! I hope I'm not the only one who sees the problem in the name of the event lol. Although we did spend the majority of the time checking out bikes I was also able to do a little shopping :) I will do another blog soon on my haul from the show. But for today here are some photos of me on the bikes.

Dinner with wine
We went to a going away dinner for a buddy of mine. Had some delicious steak and potatoes. The best part of the whole meal was the wine. It was a Jonata toda 2006. The lady whose house we were at is a local sommelier. Needless to say, she knows her wine. I definitely reccomend trying it if you feel like splurging on a bottle. She said they are around $60 per bottle.
